Richard Hook is the chief information officer for Penske Corporation, an on-highway, diversified transportation services company employing more than 50,000 worldwide. Hook also serves as senior vice president and chief information officer for Penske Automotive Group, Inc. Hook has more than 20 years of experience in information technology, infrastructure, business process, security and compliance. Prior to being named CIO, he was vice president of IT Infrastructure for Penske Automotive Group, responsible for infrastructure, IT operations, service desk, field support and security.

Before joining Penske, Hook worked for Federal-Mogul Corporation, a leading global supplier to original equipment manufacturers and worldwide aftermarket. Hook held various roles with increasing responsibility, ranging from information assurance, to project management, to infrastructure. Hook was also an information security manager for a financial services firm and manager in a consulting practice at Arthur Andersen LLP.

Hook holds a bachelor’s degree from Western Michigan University and is a certified information systems security professional and certified information systems auditor.  He is a member of the Society for Information Management Advance Practices Council and Information Systems Security Association. He is governing body chair for the Detroit CIO Executive Summit, a member of the Midwest Technology Leaders Conference and a multi-year IT executive mentor in We Build Character.
