Dr. Robert Tuttle is an associate professor in Department of Engineering Design, Manufacturing, and Management Systems in Western Michigan University's College of Engineering and Applied Sciences. Prior to joining Western's faculty, he was a department of mechanical engineering professor at Saginaw Valley State University since 2004. He has received numerous technical awards, including the Steel Division Best Paper Award in 2015 and 2021, and the 2019 Steel Division Individual Service Award. Tuttle is active in several professional societies, including the American Foundry Society and ASM International, author or co-author of over 50 technical papers, and recipient of more than $2,000,000 in external funding. An established researcher in the field of metallurgy, he is widely sought out by industry for his expertise.
