Dr. Sandun S. Kuruppu is an associate professor in Western Michigan University's Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering. He is a senior member of IEEE. He received his B.S. degree in electrical and electronics engineering from University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka in 2007 and M.S. and Ph.D. degrees from Purdue University in 2010 and 2013, respectively. Prior to his current position, he held positions at Saginaw Valley State University, Nexteer Automotive, Texas Instruments Kilby Research Lab and Delphi Electronics and Safety.
Kuruppu's current research interests include fault diagnostics in energy conversion systems and intelligent vehicle controls. He is the recipient of Ruth and Ted Braun Fellowship and Excellence for Online Teaching Award 2021 from Saginaw Valley State University. He is an associate editor of IEEE Power Electronics Society Educational Videos on Power Electronics and student activities chair of IEEE ECCE 2023.
