Alumni Spotlight: Shannon Hoffman
Bronco's in business: fashionista has over ten years of success with city showroom
“I did imagine my business would be as successful as it is; I think that is how I got here,” Hoffman said. “I continue to believe my business will grow and that there is no limit to my success.”
Hoffman didn’t know the ins-and-outs of the legal aspect of running a business, but with the help of a team of lawyers and accountants, her long-time dream of owning a fashion showroom became a reality.
Hoffman sells her clothing lines to stores and boutiques throughout the Midwest. Her showroom has sample sets that they sell from, and Hoffman acts as the representative for the clothing lines; often traveling to other stores. Hoffman represents seven different lines and even works internationally with a line from Germany and another in Australia. With so much going on, Hoffman says she finds herself doing something different every day.
The philosophy of Studio H Chicago is a simple one: build great relationships and provide excellent customer service. Hoffman said that by using this simple tactic, people trust working with her business, which is reflected by increased sales.
Hoffman got her start in the fashion industry at a showroom in Atlanta, but after a few years down south, her Midwest roots called her back to Chicago where her new adventure began learning about the fashion market of the Midwest. Hoffman started Studio H Chicago in August 2011 and has been looking toward the future ever since.
