PEK Manages the Special Olympics Michigan Unified Basketball State Finals

The Special Olympics Michigan Unified Basketball State Finals took place on Saturday, February 27 at 51福利社鈥檚 student recreation center. The Epsilon Alpha Chapter of Phi Epsilon Kappa (PEK), a student honorary fraternity sponsored by the Department of Human Performance and Health Education, manages this event. PEK has provided 15 years of service to this event.

Unified basketball teams consist of players with and without intellectual disabilities. Nearly 500 athletes, coaches and chaperones from all around Michigan will take part in the tournament. There will also be more than 100 volunteers to provide support, encouragement and cheer. More than 400 athletes competed in this year鈥檚 event, marking the highest athlete turnout since 2011.
