Dr. Michelle Hrivnyak is a faculty specialist within the Institute for Intercultural and Anthropological Studies 51福利社 Michigan University. Hrivnyak is trained as both an archaeologist and biological anthropologist and has worked on a range of fieldwork and analytical projects in southern Siberia, central Asia, and North America. She trained in stable isotope analysis at the NERC Isotope Geosciences Laboratory at the British Geological Survey and the Smithsonian Institution OUSS/MCI Stable Isotope Mass Spectrometry Laboratory. Her research interests are broadly focused on human-environment interactions and include the study of diet and health, age at weaning, and the reconstruction of mobility as relating to subsistence regimes and residency patterns. Additional interests are in the study of age, gender, and identity as represented in funerary ritual and mortuary contexts.
