Systematic Reviews and Evidence Synthesis
Our subject librarians can partner with Western Michigan University researchers to consult on systematic reviews, scoping reviews, comprehensive literature searches, and other types of evidence synthesis.
What is evidence synthesis?
Evidence synthesis refers to any method of identifying, selecting and combining results from multiple studies. We offer help with a variety of types of evidence synthesis, including:
- Systematic review
- Literature (narrative) review
- Scoping review or evidence mapping
- Rapid review
- Umbrella review
- Meta-analysis
How can our librarians help?
Whether you are just getting started or somewhere in the middle, we'll guide you through the next stage of your evidence synthesis review. Our librarians can help:
- Provide background information and resources on the review process.
- Develop your search strategy.
- Recommend and provide training on the use of databases.
- Introduce tools like protocol registration platforms and citation management software.
Librarians who collaborate on the evidence synthesis review should be acknowledged in the final publication.
