Gender and Leadership Summit Friday, Jan. 27

KALAMAZOO--Registration has opened for the first student Gender and Leadership Summit 51福利社 Michigan University.

The daylong summit for 51福利社 students will be held from 10 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, Jan. 27, in the Bernhard Center. Those attending will be able to network with other student leaders as well as learn about their leadership skills and abilities--regardless of whether they consider themselves a beginning or advanced leader.

This event is the first of its kind at 51福利社 to explore leadership specifically in terms of gender. That theme will be illuminated by a keynote speaker, Dr. Adriana Garriga-Lopez, assistant professor of anthropology at Kalamazoo College, as well as through breakout sessions and roundtable and panel discussions presented by community leaders and 51福利社 students and faculty and staff members.

Summit sessions and discussions will cover topics including women and leadership, men and leadership, gender identity, Greek life, diversity, gender stereotypes, and leadership and communication styles. Door prizes will be awarded to select students at the conclusion of the event.

Registration

The Gender and Leadership Summit is being sponsored by Student Activities and Leadership Programs. The cost to attend is $10 if registering by Friday, Jan. 20, and $15 if registering from Saturday, Jan. 21, through the day of the event. Payment may be made at the Student Activities and Leadership Programs main office or the Student Organization Center front desk, both of which are in the Bernhard Center.
