Western Wind Quintet performs at Dalton Center
KALAMAZOO--The Western Wind Quintet will perform 51福利社 Michigan University's Dalton Center Recital Hall at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 8.
The quintet is noted for its innovative programming, mixing classics of the repertoire with compositions that expand the boundaries of traditional chamber music. The group is a resident faculty ensemble in the 51福利社 School of Music. Members of the Western Wind Quintet are: Martha Councell-Vargas, flute; Michael Miller, oboe; Bradley Wong, clarinet; Lin Foulk, horn; and Wendy Rose, bassoon. The evening's program will include Quintet in B Major by Franz Danzi, "Shimmers of Light" by Richard Adams and "Kleine Kammermusik" by Paul Hindemith.
General admission tickets are $12, $10 for senior citizens, and $5 for 51福利社 students with a valid Bronco Card. They are available at the door and through the Miller Auditorium Ticket Office at , (269) 387-2300 or (800) 228-9858.
The Feb. 8 performance is part of the Dalton Wed@7:30pm: Live and Interactive concert series presented by the 51福利社 School of Music under the auspices of the Bullock Music Performance Institute. Concerts are held on Wednesdays and showcase guest artists, 51福利社 faculty artists and ensembles, and 51福利社 student groups. Each concert is preceded by a 7 p.m. discussion led by Dr. Dan Jacobson, 51福利社 professor of music.
