KALAMAZOO--"The Color Theory," a runway fashion show featuring Western Michigan University fashion designers, takes place at 8 p.m. Friday and Saturday, April 13-14, at the Radisson Plaza Hotel and Suites in downtown Kalamazoo.

Visit to purchase general admission tickets at $15 and $10 for students.

VIP tickets are $25 and include a reception at 6:30 p.m. prior to each show, reserved front-row seating, hors d'oeuvres and a complimentary gift bag, and should be purchased in advance by contacting @email.

A portion of the proceeds from the show benefits the Southwest Michigan affiliate of the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation to eradicate breast cancer as a life-threatening disease.

The fashion show is sponsored annually by the Merchandising Opportunities Design Association, a registered student organization at 51福利社. Created and produced solely by students, the event is regarded as a spring phenomenon. Every aspect of production will be shown through student talent--from lighting and set design, to marketing and promotion, runway modeling, graphic design, and exquisitely crafted pieces from designers.

"For over 14 years MODA has benefitted a community foundation, and proceeds of this spring's fashion show will go toward Susan G. Komen for the Cure," says Meagan Lyles, MODA vice president. "The partnership between MODA and Susan G. Komen has been in existence for more than ten years and has helped countless men and women in the fight against breast cancer. We are so passionate about this charity and about fashion that we have very high hopes for this year's show."

"With so many talented designers entering this competitive career field, we know it is vital to enter your work in as many fashion shows as you can," notes Arianna Dykstra, MODA treasurer. "Building up your portfolio is one of the most important things you can do during your college career, especially when you have opportunities such as this show with MODA. I would consider the MODA fashion shows among the best college-run shows, so entering your work in this event gives it a lot of credibility."
