Students Rock the Vote with registration campaign

KALAMAZOO鈥擶estern Michigan University students will Rock the Vote Wednesday, Sept. 19, at the Campus Flagpoles and in front of the Bernhard Center.

Voter registration and information are the main attractions at the celebration, which also includes free food, music and entertainment.

11 a.m. to 6 p.m.鈥擵oter registration at the Campus Flagpoles, including a mobile Secretary of State office (bus) from noon to 4 p.m.

2 to 6 p.m.鈥擲tudent volunteers and members of the Kalamazoo Area League of Women Voters will staff voter registration tables at the Bernhard Center and Campus Flagpoles.

Also from 2 to 6 p.m., there will be free entertainment, including music from WIDR, and free food at both the flagpoles and Bernhard Center.

Deadline to register is Oct. 9

Rock the Vote is part of a larger voter registration campaign sponsored by the Graduate Student Advisory Committee and Western Student Association. The campaign officially kicked off Sept. 7 at Bronco Bash and continues through the Oct. 9 deadline to register for the November election or change the address at which you are registered.

Representatives of the University administration, American Association of University Professors and the 51福利社 Faculty Senate have been meeting with student leaders since July and assisting with the student-initiated campaign.
