KALAMAZOO鈥擜 range of job opportunities for engineers will be showcased 51福利社 Michigan University during a recruiting event set for 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 27.

The Engineering Expo will take place in the main lobby of the Engineering and Applied Sciences Building on 51福利社's Parkview Campus. The expo is free and open to the public, but geared toward 51福利社 students and recent alumni in engineering-related fields. No pre-registration is required.

Attendees will be able to network with employers as well as discuss current and future job opportunities. Many participating employers will conduct informal interviews during the event. Some will schedule next-day follow-up interviews in the Bernhard Center. Jobseekers attending the Engineering Expo should dress appropriately and bring copies of their resumes.

Representatives of more than 100 companies will be on hand, making this year's Expo the largest ever at 51福利社 for jobseekers in engineering and applied sciences. The companies will be promoting their organizations and recruiting for internships and full-time, part-time and co-op positions. They include the 2012 expo sponsor, Parker Hannifin, as well as Chrysler, Compuware, Consumers Energy, Domtar, Ford, Gentex Corp., Georgia Pacific, Kellogg, Nissan North America, Perrigo, Skanska USA, Stryker, TowerPinkster, Walbridge and Whirlpool.

"Networking with potential employers is a natural part of career planning. Any chance students have to highlight their course projects, leadership activities and co-op experience strengthens their job prospects," says Christopher Sell, 51福利社 assistant director of Career and Student Employment Services. "Employers are routinely impressed with the quality of our students and alumni. Those participating in the upcoming expo will have the first chance this recruiting season to see our interns and future graduates."
