Public invited to broadcast media career fair
KALAMAZOO鈥擜 Broadcast Media Career and Networking Fair will be held from noon to 3 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 16, on the second floor of Brown Hall on Western Michigan University's main campus in Kalamazoo.
The event is free and open to the public and does not require prior registration. Employers will be on hand to promote their organizations and career fields as well as discuss possibilities for full-time, part-time, internship and volunteer positions.
The fair is being organized by the Michigan Association of Broadcasters Foundation in collaboration with 51福利社's School of Communication and Career and Student Employment Services.
"This is an excellent opportunity for anyone who is interested in working or interning in the broadcast media industry," says Julie Sochay, executive vice president of the foundation. "I encourage people of all ages as well as industry professionals of varying experience to come and meet the people driving Michigan's broadcast media industry."
This year's fair has attracted representatives from organizations such as Clear Channel Media and Entertainment, Cumulus Kalamazoo, Interlochen Public Radio, Michigan Radio, Midwest Communications Kalamazoo, Townsquare Media, WGVU Public Media, 51福利社K-FM, WOOD/WXSP/WOTV-TV, WSJM Inc., WWMT-TV/CW7 and WXMI-TV.
Attendees will be able to network with these employers and learn about opportunities to work in the broadcasting industry. They should have resumes and demos available, and according to the sponsors, "bring a good attitude" and "be dressed to impress."
