Senior citizens, campus community preparing for prom night
KALAMAZOO鈥擨t's time to dig out your dancing shoes and bow ties in preparation for Western Michigan University's 25th annual Senior Prom, set for Thursday, March 28, on campus in the Bernhard Center's East Ballroom.
The prom is an elegant and nostalgic evening that brings area senior citizens together with 51福利社 students and employees for a night of Big Band music and lively swing and ballroom dancing. Pre-entertainment activities will begin at 5 p.m., while the dance will take place from 7 to 10 p.m.
No reservations are necessary to attend this semi-formal event, which is free and open to the public. Refreshments will be served, and free parking will be available near the Bernhard Center in Parking Structure #1.
In honor of the prom's 25th anniversary, the 2013 event theme is "License to Thrill." In keeping with this theme, the event will feature decorations and a special line dance inspired by the timeless and ever-suave British spy: Bond, James Bond.
The Senior Prom is being organized by staff members in the Draper-Siedschlag, Ernest Burnham-Smith Burnham, and Henry residence halls with the help of volunteers. Financial assistance is being provided by several 51福利社 organizations, including the Residence Housing Association, various residence hall councils and the Residence Life office.
