Gold Company presents annual Sneak Preview concert

Gold Company was the only U.S. ensemble invited to perform at this summer's Choralies Festival in France.

KALAMAZOO鈥擥old Company, Western Michigan University's internationally recognized vocal jazz ensemble under the direction of 51福利社 alumnus Greg Jasperse, will present its 36th annual Sneak Preview concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. GC II, co-directed by Jasperse and 51福利社 alumnus Nich Mueller, will also perform.

This year's Sneak Preview falls on Halloween and both ensembles are embracing the holiday. There will be costumes, candy and prizes awarded in the first-ever Gold Company costume contest.

Gold Company

Gold Company is recognized as one of the leading collegiate vocal jazz ensembles in the world. The ensemble performs a wide variety of repertoire which covers all styles in the contemporary vocal idiom. They have appeared in concert throughout the United States, Canada, South Africa and Europe. The group has also appeared at the national conventions of the National Association for Music Education, American Choral Directors Association and International Association for Jazz Education, as well as performing at Walt Disney World, Disneyland and the World Symposium on Choral Music.

Gold Company has appeared with artists including Bobby McFerrin, Kurt Elling, The Manhattan Transfer, Janis Siegel, Mark Murphy, Darmon Meader, Rosemary Clooney, Jon Hendricks, and Don Shelton and Bonnie Herman of The Singers Unlimited. Gold Company has recorded numerous audio and video demo tapes for Hal Leonard Publications and Shawnee Press. Additionally, the ensemble has been awarded over 45 "DB" awards from DownBeat magazine, more than any other collegiate vocal program.
