University Percussion Ensemble performs at 51¸£ÀûÉç
KALAMAZOO—Western Michigan University’s Percussion Ensemble, conducted by Professor Judy Moonert, will perform its first concert of the 2013–14 season at 3 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall. Admission is free.
The Nov. 17 program will include "Mallet Quartet" by Steve Reich; "Stereo is King," a work with electronica by Mason Bates; "Second Construction" by John Cage and "Ku-Ka-Ilimoku" by Christopher Rouse.
University Percussion Ensemble
The Percussion Ensemble performs a diverse repertoire of contemporary music and is recognized for demonstrating the unique versatility of percussion instruments as well as the musicality of percussion performance. Concert programs include cutting-edge percussion compositions, historically important percussion works and world music. The ensemble has performed throughout Michigan, including concerts at high schools, on local arts series and for Michigan Percussive Arts Society events.
