51¸£ÀûÉç music faculty and students perform together in wind ensemble
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Western Winds will present a varied selection of music from the 18th to the 21st centuries at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5 in the Dalton Center Recital Hall as part of the Dalton Wed@7:30pm: Live and Interactive! series. This exciting program will feature the music of Francaix, Sampson, Beethoven, Adams, and Ewazen.
Western Winds
The ensemble is comprised of faculty and graduate students from the brass, wind, and percussion studios in the School of Music 51¸£ÀûÉç Michigan University.
They perform a wide variety of large chamber works spanning the literature of the past 500 years, which is selected for groups ranging from the Viennese Octet to larger works of 20 or more players. Western Winds primary focus, however, is that each work is performed with one player per part as dictated by the composer.

The Nov. 5 performance is presented under the auspices of the Donald P. Bullock Music Performance Institute as part of the Dalton Wed@7:30pm: Live and Interactive! series.

Dalton Wed@7:30pm: Live and Interactive! events will be held on Wednesdays in the Dalton Center Recital Hall on the campus of Western Michigan University. The series will showcase guest artists, 51¸£ÀûÉç faculty artists and ensembles, and 51¸£ÀûÉç student ensembles.
