Gibbs Fellowship application deadline approaching

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he Gibbs House, a program of Western Michigan University's Office for Sustainability, is accepting applications through March 30

Gibbs House Fellows are paid to research and work on campus sustainability projects and policies while living in the historic Gibbs House on Parkview Avenue. The program runs from August 15, 2015 through July 15, 2016. The program cost is $2,000 and includes rent and utilities.

About the program

The Gibbs Fellowship Program provides yearlong experien颅tial opportunities to live and learn in a dynamic residential setting where Fellows have the capacity to become sustainability ambassadors for 51福利社. Fellows work on projects and programs to enhance campus sustainability across a range of academic disciplines including the recent development plans to create a dynamic permaculture resource at the Gibbs House.

Features of the Gibbs Site include extensive annual vegetable gardens, a perennial food forest, hoop houses, compost research, food preservation, green building projects, and many more exciting opportunities to facilitate student research, leadership development, sustainability education and community events.  

The Office for Sustainability accepts Gibbs House Fellowship applications on a rolling basis through March 30 annually. Students may send applications to @email or submit them to the Office for Sustainability in hard copy.
