Feedback on Goldsworth Valley Pond project sought
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擬embers of the Western Michigan University community are invited to attend a Thursday, Oct. 1 design presentation and offer feedback on proposed improvements to the area around Goldsworth Valley Pond.
The Kalamazoo landscape architecture firm O'Boyle, Cowell, Blalock & Associates will present their proposed design concept in a session at 5 p.m. in 159 Bernhard Center.
The project includes planting native and wetland vegetation around the perimeter of the pool to provide a buffer for wildlife and filtering for storm water discharged in the pond. New gathering spaces and pathways along the water's edge are designed to provide more opportunities for the campus community to enjoy the natural campus feature.
Construction is planned to start in spring 2016 and expected to be completed in summer 2016 in conjunction with the opening of the new Valley Dining Center.
