Waldo Library to extend hours for end of semester
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擶estern Michigan University鈥檚 Waldo Library will be open 24 hours a day beginning at 8 a.m. Wednesday, April 20, through midnight Thursday, April 28, to accommodate students as they study for their final exams. Circulation desk service will be available until 3 a.m., and the self-service checkout kiosk will always be available.
As a safety precaution during this eight day, 24-hour a day period, a valid Bronco Card is required to swipe in at the Waldo Library front door to enter from 11 p.m. until 8 a.m. each day.
The changes were announced by the Western Student Association, which is providing financial support to keep the library open during this busy period before and during final examination week. WSA has partnered with University Libraries in this pilot project, which will be evaluated for future planning purposes.
The Swain Education Library in Sangren Hall also will have extended hours, from 2 p.m. to midnight, Sunday, April 24, and 9 a.m. to midnight, Monday through Wednesday, April 25-27.
