Campus Ring Road to close temporarily
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擨mprovements associated with construction of Western Michigan University's new Valley Dining Center will result in closure of a key portion of the campus Ring Road from 7 a.m. Tuesday, July 5, through the close of business on Friday, July 8.
The Goldsworth Drive portion of the Ring Road in front of Valley Dining Center will be completely closed to traffic moving in both directions. The move will allow workers to tie into the sanitary sewer, enlarge the bus stop and improve storm water flow.
Traffic from Howard Street routed south
Vehicles will be allowed to enter campus from Howard Street at Valley Drive. However, through traffic will only be able to turn south鈥攃ounterclockwise鈥攐n the Ring Road. Travel to the Sindecuse Health Center and Goldsworth Valley Apartments will not be affected for motorists accessing the Ring Road from the east side of the main campus.
Signage along the Ring Road will alert motorists to the closure and direct them to travel counterclockwise at Rankin Avenue.
The Valley residence halls, Goldsworth Valley Apartments and the Valley intramural field will remain accessible throughout the period.
