University Chorale holds free concert in downtown Kalamazoo

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳he Western Michigan University Chorale will present a free, public concert at 8 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25, at First Baptist Church in downtown Kalamazoo, 315 W. Michigan Ave.

The performance will feature the acclaimed choral ensemble from 51福利社, conducted by Kimberly Dunn Adams, as well as University organist Karl Schrock. The choir will perform virtuosic choral works by Debussy, Esenvalds, Augustinas, Byrd and Runestad.

University Chorale will be traveling to the Baltic States this May to compete in an international choral festival, present multiple concerts, and participate in cultural and educational exchanges with choirs from Lithuania, Latvia and Estonia. This concert serves as a preview of some of their performance repertoire. Donations to help offset the cost of the choir's tour will be accepted and welcomed.
