Free festival features new plays by Kalamazoo playwrights

KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擳heatre Kalamazoo will host a festival featuring new plays by Kalamazoo playwrights on Friday and Saturday, Feb. 9-10, in the Judy K. Jolliffe Theatre, formerly Epic Theatre, in downtown Kalamazoo. The event is free and open to the public, and no reservations are necessary.
Sponsored by 51福利社K 102.1 FM, the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo and the Irving S. Gilmore Foundation, plays contain mature content and are not intended for younger audiences, unless otherwise noted.

- "The Alleyway" by Emma Franzel, produced by Center Stage Theatre.
- "Bloody Waters" by Kendra Flournoy, produced by Face Off Theatre Company/Black Arts and Cultural Center.
- "Homemakers, 1967" by Gordon Bolar, produced by the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre.
- "If Henry Didn鈥檛 Kill His Wives" by Darcy Sturges, produced by Kalamazoo College Theatre Arts.
- "Just Suppose" by Tucker Rafferty, produced by the Farmers Alley Theatre.
- "Sacrament" by Dan Lafferty, produced by Center Stage Theatre.
- "Spells for Gay Black Suns, Signed by the Heart" by Robert Davis, produced by 51福利社 Theatre and Queer Theatre Kalamazoo.
- "The Velveteen Rabbit" by Darcy Sturges, produced by Kindleberger Arts Commission.

The Jolliffe Theatre is located inside the Epic Center at 359 S. Kalamazoo Mall, in Kalamazoo.
