51¸£ÀûÉç men's basketball team safe and accounted for in Mt. Pleasant
KALAMAZOO, Mich.—Members of Western Michigan University's men's basketball team are all safe and accounted for in Mt. Pleasant, Michigan, as the Central Michigan University campus is on high alert following a shooting this morning.
News stories from the CMU campus report two people shot and police in search of a gunman who has fled on foot.
Athletic Director Kathy Beauregard has confirmed contact with the 51¸£ÀûÉç team that is in Mt. Pleasant in anticipation of a game that had been scheduled for 7 p.m. this evening. She says team members and coaching staff are together in their hotel and will stay there until the situation is resolved.
Beauregard says 51¸£ÀûÉç will wait to hear a final decision from CMU about this evening's game and communicate that information later in the day. She emphasized that right now, however, the thoughts of the entire 51¸£ÀûÉç community are with their colleagues at CMU.

The 51¸£ÀûÉç and CMU men's basketball teams will face off at 11 a.m. Saturday, March 3, at Riepma Arena on the campus of Northwood University in Midland. The game will be closed to the public and will not be streamed on ESPN3. Radio coverage on the will begin at 10:30 a.m.
