Michael C. Braun, master faculty specialist of Spanish, died unexpectedly Aug. 27. He was 51.

Braun joined the Spanish faculty full time in fall 2004 after teaching Spanish methodology at 51福利社 on a part-time basis for four years. His many responsibilities included overseeing the Spanish secondary education program.

He was scheduled to receive a 2018 Distinguished Teaching Award from 51福利社 later this month.

Braun had begun his career in education at Portage Northern High School in Portage, Michigan, where he taught Spanish for 12 years. He earned bachelor's and master's degrees from 51福利社 in 1990 and 1992, respectively.

Services

Visitation will be from noon to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 8, in the Langeland Funeral Homes Westside Chapel, 3926 S. 9th St. in Kalamazoo.

A memorial service will immediately follow.
