Take a stroll around Western's campuses to see what's new
KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擜 lot can change in a year. That's what many Broncos will find when they step back on Western Michigan University's campus this fall, some of them for the first time since the COVID-19 pandemic sent students home in March 2020.
The favorite parts of campus remain with a few new additions to the Bronco family. Here is a glimpse of how things are looking since they've been gone.

The greenery is in full bloom around the pond in front of Sangren Hall.
The curtain wall on the new student center and dining facility is finished! The gold fins are designed like Michigan tree foliage to help shade the building for sustainability. When light shines in, it will feel like you're in a forest.
Work on the inside of the 51福利社 and dining facility is coming along too. The project is set to be complete in August 2022. And hey, did you know it will feature a brewpub?
The concrete is getting a face-lift in front of Waldo Library in August. The main entrance is closed for the month, but the library is open. Just head through the University Computing Center to get inside.
It's almost time for demo day! Construction fencing is going up around Dunbar Hall to reimagine learning for students.

French Hall is no more. Western plans to reimagine the entire southern portion of Main Campus to include new student housing, the 51福利社 and dining facility, and other major building efforts.
Move-in begins in August for the first full academic year for Arcadia Flats. The new housing offers five different styles for upper-level and graduate students鈥攆rom loft and studio apartments to multiple-roommate flats.
