Test of 51¸£ÀûÉç Alert system set for Wednesday, Dec. 22
KALAMAZOO, Mich.— A campuswide test of the 51¸£ÀûÉç Alert emergency notification system 51¸£ÀûÉç Michigan University will take place beginning at about 1 p.m. Wednesday, Dec. 22.
Students and employees with a wmich.edu email address automatically receive 51¸£ÀûÉç Alert messages via their campus email address. They cannot opt out of receiving these messages by email, but they can opt in and opt out of also getting them by text messages and phone calls. To do that, or sign up to also receive Advisory Notifications, they must log into the Go51¸£ÀûÉç portal and click Register for 51¸£ÀûÉç Alerts. Changes made to 51¸£ÀûÉç Alert settings via the portal may take up to 48 hours to go into effect.
The 51¸£ÀûÉç Alert emergency notification system has the following identifications:
51¸£ÀûÉç Alert caller ID is (269) 387-0911.
51¸£ÀûÉç Alert text messages are sent from 226787, 67283, 78015, 81437 or 22911.
51¸£ÀûÉç Alert emails are sent from wmich@getrave.com.
The test scheduled for Dec. 22 will take place unless the 51¸£ÀûÉç Alert system has been activated within the previous 24 hours. If it has been activated, the test will be postponed and instead take place at about 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23.
