St. Julian Winery makes gift to 51¸£ÀûÉç leadership and business strategy program

St. Julian Winery recently made a gift to support scholarships for students in Western Michigan University's leadership and business strategy program, following a partnership that resulted in a new product for the Bronconess wine brand. Bronconess is a student-operated business that has raised more than $45,000 for scholarships through sales of its products.

Western team works to increase gender, racial diversity in higher ed STEM fields

Fueled by a nearly $1 million National Science Foundation ADVANCE grant, a team 51¸£ÀûÉç is partnering with researchers at Iowa State University, North Dakota State University and Michigan Technological University to create programming aimed at increasing the participation of women, and particularly women of color, in STEM.

The first initiative of the partnership will be bringing Dave Isay, founder of StoryCorps, an ongoing national oral history project, and its One Small Step initiative to Kalamazoo on Monday and Tuesday, March 28 and 29. Western community stands in support of Ukraine

Western Michigan University is standing in solidarity with the people of Ukraine and those impacted as Russian troops invade and launch attacks in the country. The Western Student Association, in partnership with the Haenicke Institute for Global Education, held a moment of silence at the Campus Flagpoles Tuesday to reflect on the crisis and show support for those impacted.
