Yvonne Jackson earned her Doctorate in Education, with a specialty in teacher leadership, from Walden University. Her dissertation, “Health Science Administrators Perception of Remediation of Students in Clinical Track Programs,” is published in ProQuest. She has completed other studies including “Increasing Balance in Traumatic Head Injured Patients” and “Determining the Age at Which Preschoolers Develop Hand Dominance.”
Previously, Dr. Jackson earned her educational specialist certification in special education administration, an M.A. in Sports Administration, and a B.S. in Physical Therapy from Wayne State University. Most recently, she has served as a faculty member at Baker College (2012-18) where she also held the title academic coordinator of clinical education. Clinically, Dr. Jackson was a physical therapist in the Detroit Public Schools (1994-2013) and Rehabilitation Institute of Michigan (1991-94).
Dr. Jackson’s academic areas of focus include examination and intervention for pediatric and neuromuscular conditions, as well as clinical education. She plans to continue research in the areas of balance following stroke and traumatic brain injury, development in children with neurological disorders and student remediation.
