Bio:

Katherine Harte-DeCoux earned her BA in Theatre Performance from Western Michigan University, and her MFA in Directing Theatre from CUNY Brooklyn College.  While living in New York City for 15 years, she worked as an actor, director, educator, theatre technician, stage combatant, playwright, producer, and monologue coach.  She also founded her own company, Mortal Folly Theatre, producing and directing many full-length productions, staged readings, and monologue/scene performance salons. 
Since returning to Kalamazoo in 2016, she has teamed with Bare Backstage Productions on Fifty Shades of Shakespeare and the Fated to Be Costume Prom / Cabaret, acted at Great Escape Stage Company in Marshall (The Weir and This Day and Age), directed for Skits & Giggles (Sex Please, We're Sixty), and worked with the Kalamazoo Civic Theatre, where she has been an Actor (Macbeth, War Paint), Guest Director for the Civic Youth Theatre (Comedy of Errors, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane), and Teaching Artist (Academy of the Theatre Arts, KPS Communities in Schools). She has also freelanced for the Arts Council of Greater Kalamazoo, the Vicksburg Cultural Arts Center, and Education For the Arts/KRESA.
