Women's Basketball Locker Room Renovation
Read Fieldhouse on 51福利社鈥檚 main campus is home to the Bronco Basketball programs, including player locker rooms for use during practice and on game days. Over the years, the building has undergone several renovations, including the University Arena court, the indoor track, new lighting, upgraded sound system and improvements to the Men鈥檚 Basketball locker room. Not touched since the mid-1990s, the Women鈥檚 Basketball locker room was sorely in need of a face lift, and through generous donations and its own internal funding, the Athletics Department was able to make this a reality.
The University partnered with Design Professional Tower Pinkster and Construction Manager AVB to create a new, completely renovated and expanded locker room for the Bronco women. The project consists of a complete overhaul of the existing locker room and wet areas, and an expansion into the adjacent weight room for a player lounge. Customized and personalized state-of-the-art lockers will be constructed within the new locker room, along with fresh new finishes, new furniture, inspirational graphics and improved lighting throughout the entire space. Improvements to the HVAC system and technology infrastructure are included as well. Not only will this provide the Broncos with one of the finest team locker rooms among the Mid-American Conference, having a significant impact on the student athlete experience, but will also transform the ability to recruit quality new athletes to the program.
Total cost of the project sits at $1.5M, and is expected to be complete for the start of the 2023-2024 basketball season in November 2023.
