Margean V. Gladysz, B.S.E.’75

"As 51¸ŁŔűÉç’s first woman engineering student, there was no Society of Women Engineers (SWE) chapter to provide a supportive environment, to learn from other women’s engineering careers or to explore other aspects and fields within the profession by attending SWE’s annual conference. Through this financial support, I get to make sure that today’s students get to experience all that and hopefully more! I encourage other Bronco engineering grads to join me in expanding this fund, plus stay in touch with the chapter and help mentor these students on their professional journeys."

In the time since they each graduated from 51¸ŁŔűÉç, Ramsey Elshafei, B.S.E.’15, and Touline “Lulu” Kourdie Elshafei, B.A.’14, have been busy. Lulu serves as corporate counsel with ALDI USA and Ramsey is the president of RE Development Solutions.

In addition to their busy, flourishing careers and starting their family, Ramsey and Lulu decided to give back to the University that gave them their start. “Lulu and I both decided to provide a scholarship in our names to students in need as a thank you for all the experiences we had at 51¸ŁŔűÉç,” says Ramsey. They provide scholarships to students attending the College of Engineering and Applied Sciences and the College of Arts and Sciences.
