Application deadlines
Admissions are for fall semester only. Applications must be received by February 1 to be considered for a graduate assistantship. All other applications, including Accelerated considered until June 30.

Transcript requirement
An official transcript from the institution from which you received your bachelor degree is required, as well as a transcript from the institution(s) where any additional graduate level courses or degrees have been taken/completed. Applicants are not required to submit an official transcript of courses taken/completed at 51¸£ÀûÉç.
Additional information
For admission to the master's program in sociology, you must:
- Complete 24 semester hours in undergraduate social science, with at least 15 semester hours in sociology, including courses in theory and research methods. If you do not have the requisite hours of undergraduate sociology curses you may be required to make up deficiencies as a condition of matriculation.
- Have a grade point average of 3.0 or better in undergraduate sociology courses.
No single requirement is sufficient to guarantee an offer of admission or to dictate a denial of admission. The information you submit is carefully evaluated by the Central Graduate Committee to ascertain if you are likely to succeed in graduate studies in sociology and you have the intellectual interests which can be cultivated by the department's areas of strength.
