General summary
Oversees all financial and operational responsibilities for the department.
Major duties
- Monitors department, college, or division finances to ensure appropriate resource allocation, consistency, and coherency. Reports and researches significant deviations from approved budgets. Forecasts financial performance using projection and statistical methodologies.
- Ensures integrity of financial operations.
- Develops, negotiates and executes facility, event and performance contracts and budgets.
- Evaluates and manages fiscal aspects of contracts, budgets and negotiated agreements.
- Manages schedule for building and programs, including community and University events.
- Establishes and interprets department policy.
- Develops short and long-term planning models and methodologies.
- Oversees and administers human resources functions for the department, college or division to ensure compliance with university policies, procedures, applicable laws, regulations and contractual requirements.
- May participate in capital project planning and development.
Minimum qualifications

Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Knowledge of contracts.
- Knowledge of accounting, budgets and finance.
- Budget management including fiscal analysis.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.

- Master's degree in business administration, accounting or a related field from an accredited institution.

Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature-controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
