General summary
Manages student affairs facility operations and contracted services.
Major duties
- Provides oversight, direction and strategic planning in the development and management of operational and support service resources.
- Employs strategic leveraging and prioritization of resources, systems and technology to address day to day maintenance, preventive maintenance and non-major projects. Collaborates with operational services in developing and communicating specific seasonal work.
- Researches best practices, initiates, negotiates, directs and monitors multiple vendor contracts in collaboration with the Office of General Counsel and Logistical Services. Establishes contract specifications, directs changes and negotiates off-contract prices and contract renewals. Ensures vendor compliance and oversees related budgets.
- Establishes and supervises operations, procedures and schedules for the maintenance and custodial operations for the residence halls and custodial operations for dining services units including emergency procedures.
- Participates in the development, planning and execution of capital improvements, renovations and building enhancements for student affairs facilities.
- Supports institutional effectiveness by generating actionable data through researching, developing and implementing tools that provide assessment, evaluation and reporting of facilities support services and operational performance.
- Directs and responds to high level concerns from students, parents, University officials and administrators.
- May supervise staff and student employees.
Minimum qualifications

Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Supervisory or lead experience.
- Project management experience.
- Budget management experience.
- Experience managing contractors or vendors.
Required other
- Ability to work irregular shifts and extended hours, including evenings and weekends.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is performed with exposure to any number of elements which may occasionally require some precautions such as safety glasses, protective clothing, ear protection, etc.
