General summary
Directs non-academic programming and comprehensive services for students.
Major duties
- Supervises development of instructional programs, coordinates faculty professional development. Identifies faculty hiring needs and approval process.
- Supervises class scheduling, teaching assignments and curriculum coordination. Provide support to faculty and coordinate substitute instructors and tutoring. Monitor and maintain accreditation.
- Provides leadership in the on-going development of programs, policies, and practices that meet the needs of students, staff, and faculty. Develops and implements short- and long-term strategic plans for the department.
- Manages CELCIS student services and co-curricular activities, including advising prospective and current students, orientation programming, admissions and immigration processes, course registration, various cultural activities, retention and student success initiatives, and student records.
- Participates in the development and implementation of recruitment strategy for international students. Maintains contacts with recruiters, liaisons, agencies, and sponsors.
- Supervises maintenance of CELCIS website and applicable third-party pages.
- Oversees and supervises the testing center.
- Manages short-term and special program development including negotiating terms and communicating with campus, community, and international partners, planning logistics and implementation of programming.
- Oversees the CELIS budget
- Collaborates with campus and community partners to develop cooperative and mutually beneficial relationships to meet department needs.
Minimum qualifications
Minimum qualifications based upon job documentation and industry best practices. Any current employees not meeting these qualifications will be grandfathered until they move to a different job.
Required education
- Bachelor's degree in related field from an accredited institution.
Required experience
- Three years' relevant experience.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational skills.
- Demonstrated cross-cultural sensitivity and awareness.
Physical requirements
Office or other indoor work with minimal physical demands such as occasionally lifting or moving materials less than 25 pounds.
Working conditions
Work is generally performed in a well-lit, temperature controlled indoor environment with occasional exposure to the outdoors or any number of elements.
