Researchers

Alessander Danna-dos-Santos, P.T., Ph.D.
Director and Researcher

Dr. Santos received his degree in Physical Therapy from the State University of Londrina (Brazil) in 1998. In 1999 he received a title of specialist in rehabilitation of musculoskeletal disorders from the University of Sao Paulo/Medicine School of Ribeirao Preto and in 2001 a Masters Degree in Human Movement Science from Paulista State University (Brazil). In 2004 Dr. Santos continued his studies in human movement control at Penn State University when in 2008 he received his PhD. From 2008 to 2010 Dr. Santos was a post-doctoral fellow at the laboratory for Neural Control of Movement (Arizona State University). His current research work is directed to the study of neuromechanisms of multi-muscle control and its clinical applications. Dr. Santos applies his research in the development of diagnostic and interventional tools.

Daryl Lawson, P.T., M.P.T., D.Sc.
Co-Director and Researcher

Dr. Lawson received his physical therapy degree from the University of Southern California. He received a Doctorate in Science from Loma Linda University with his dissertation on chronic, non-healing neuropathic ulcers. Dr. Lawson is continued his work with non-healing neuropathic ulcers over the next decade until present. His current research is observing soft-tissue healing (orthopedics) and wounds using electrical stimulation, laser Doppler flow meter, PPG, and musculoskeletal ultrasound. His current work also involves sensors for telemedicine for detection of physiological parameters.
