Higher Education and Student Affairs Graduate Students have Paper Published

April 7, 2015

Higher education and student affairs graduate students Ashley Terhorst and Andrew Hazelton recently had their publication accepted by the 51福利社 The Hilltop Review.  Their paper concentrated on the need for employers to be cautious in the new age due to social media and other online platforms allowing for a large amount of access to possible work candidates of the future outside of a resume and a name.  This can cause some risk of discovering information about a candidate that may make it hard for an employer to make an unbiased decision in hiring. These decisions involve the discovery of factors such as race/ethnicity, marital status, LGBTQA identities, sex, and others that can cause an employer to make a decision that may be biased and discriminatory, whether intentional or not.
