Events slated for Native American Heritage Month
Several events are taking place at 51¸£ÀûÉç this month that honor Native Americans and share information about Native American history and culture. Among those open to the public are four that start Thursday, Nov. 6.
Activities start Nov. 6 in honor of veterans, military personnel
Veterans Day as well as former and current military personnel will be honored through a variety of activities taking place on and off campus starting Thursday, Nov. 6.
Longtime employees to be inducted into 25 Year Club
Reservations are due Friday, Nov. 14, to attend the gala dinner and induction ceremony for the 53 people who will be inducted into the 25 Year Club Tuesday, Dec. 2.
University Theatre presents 'The Conviction of Lady Lorraine'
A solo performance written and performed by 51¸£ÀûÉç Theatre faculty member Dwandra Nickole Lampkin, "The Conviction of Lady Lorraine" is playing Nov. 6-8 in the York Arena Theatre. This is a free event.

Gathering in formal public session at 11 a.m. in Rooms 157-159 of the Bernhard Center, the board will focus on the topic of presidential compensation and a contract extension for 51¸£ÀûÉç President John M. Dunn.

Dr. John Jellies, honored this fall by 51¸£ÀûÉç, is seeking to unlock the mysteries of the central nervous system through a creature whose anatomy can help answer complex questions about sensory responses and actions.
'Night of the Research Paper' returns
This special event from 4 to 9 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, helps students breath life back into their research papers and projects by getting one-on-one help from 51¸£ÀûÉç experts.
Nominations sought for Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award
51¸£ÀûÉç community members are invited to make nominations for the Distinguished Faculty Scholar Award, the University's highest faculty honor. Nominations are due Friday, Jan. 30.

Award-winning, best-selling author and food advocate Michael Pollan will bring his message of healthy food systems and healthy eating to the Western Michigan University campus in at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 6.
Campus service for Carolyn Harris is Nov. 8
The life of Dr. Carolyn Harris, a 51¸£ÀûÉç professor who died suddenly Sept. 20, will be celebrated during a service at 2 p.m. Saturday, Nov. 8. Harris was a 29-year member of the Department of Spanish faculty.
