KALAMAZOO, Mich.鈥擶estern Michigan University's online master's in education program is among the top in the country, according to U.S. News and World Report. Second in Michigan only to Michigan State University, the report cites the College of Education and Human Development's use of "contemporary instructional design practices and instructional technologies combined with the subject matter expertise of faculty to provide students with an effective and engaging learning experience."
Ranked No. 52 out of nearly 300 programs nationwide, the report emphasized the flexibility available to Western's online students. All classes are recorded and archived so students can access information on their own time.
In this 10th edition of the online rankings, U.S. News and World Report used different criteria than the overall rankings, including engagement, expert opinion, faculty credentials and training, services and technologies, and student excellence. The is available on the publication's website.
