You must be a U.S. Citizen.
At least 18 years old by Election Day. You may register to vote at age 17, provided you will be 18 on or before Election Day.

You can register to vote and vote in person at the clerk’s office where you are registered in one trip.
Though you can register and vote at the clerk’s office through Election Day, we suggest voting early to avoid lines.

Polls in Michigan will still be open from 7am to 8pm.
You must vote where you are registered.
You will be asked to show ID when you check in to vote. If you don’t have one, you can still vote by signing a form that says you didn’t have an ID. Your vote will still be counted.

Your absentee ballot must be in your clerk’s hands by Election Day; allow at least two weeks for mail to travel. We suggest sending in your ballot by October 19th or dropping it off in the designated secure dropbox.
If postage is necessary, only one stamp is required to mail your ballot.
