Run the Turkey Trot in person on Nov. 23 or virtually between Nov. 23-29. Regardless of what race option you choose, you can pick up your SWAG at our Packet Pick-Up on Nov. 22 from 4 to 7 p.m. at the 51福利社 Student Recreation Center - Indoor Tennis Courts.

We will also have a day of registration for both race options available until Nov. 23 at 8:15 a.m.

Join the Office of Military and Veteran's Affairs (OMVA) as we walk around campus for our annual 5K Remembrance Ruck. The 5K ruck will start and end at Ellsworth Hall kicking off at 9 A.M. sharp. Snacks and beverages will be provided by OMVA as the conclusion of the event. All are welcome to join!

Western Michigan University鈥檚 Timothy Light Center for Chinese Studies is pleased to invite you to its 2024 Fall Guest Lecture Series. All events are free and open to the public; prior registration is requested.  

Dr. Lucas Klein, associate professor of Chinese at Arizona State University, will present on 鈥淭he Poetry of Xi Chuan and 鈥楥hineseness鈥 Reconsidered鈥 Monday, Nov. 11, from 12 to 1:30 p.m. in Sangren Hall, Room 3520. 

Klein will discuss the richness of Xi Chuan鈥檚 poetry, focusing on the interplay between the author鈥檚 avant-garde intellectual poetics and his engagement with contemporary and historical Chinese events. His talk will鈥

Open enrollment for 2025 health care benefits and flexible spending accounts (FSA) opens Monday, November 4 and runs through Friday, November 22 for AAUP Faculty, AFSCME, MSEA, POA, and eligible Staff Compensation System non-bargaining staff. Please view your 2025 Benefits Guide, which includes your 2025 health plan contribution rates. The enrollment and change forms are online on the Benefits Open Enrollment webpage.

The Haenicke Institute for Global Education seeks applications for faculty to join the Global Classrooms Collaborative for Spring 2025. The deadline has been extended to November 22. Faculty who are selected will meet during the spring semester in a facilitated learning community that will offer a step-by-step process to design a collaborative online international learning experience (COIL) for their students, including assistance matching with an international faculty partner. The grant is for $5000, half of which will be distributed during the Spring 2025 Collaborative with the other half distributed after implementation of the Global Classroom course and completion of a final report in Summer or Fall 2025 or Spring 2026.

University Advancement is excited to announce the Gold Gathering dates for the 2024-25 academic year! This event will take place at four different locations this year, with a registration link that will be capped per event. Gatherings will take place from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Lunch will be provided, and they and are open to staff and faculty.
