Digital Music Ensemble, a technology-based interdisciplinary performance troupe, will hold a free show at 8 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6, in the Dalton Center Recital Hall.

51¸£ÀûÉç's Real Talk Diversity Series begins Tuesday, Sept. 26, with a look at the life of a transgender American activist and wraps up in April with a discussion on environmental racism, discrimination and socioeconomic neglect.

"Why Women Won the Vote: Did the 19th Amendment Change American Politics?" is the topic of the U.S. Constitution Day lecture, set for 3:30 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19.

The University Theatre dives into a new season of performances with "Waiting to be Invited" beginning Friday, Sept. 22, and running through Sunday, Oct. 8, in the York Arena Theatre.

The series kicks off Wednesday, Sept. 13, with Dr. Teresa Ghilarducci, director of the Schwartz Center for Economic Policy Analysis at the New School of Social Research in New York.

The first lecture, "Building Intersectional Awareness," is Wednesday, Sept. 13, and will feature Natalie Nguyá»…n, director of LBGT Student Services at 51¸£ÀûÉç.

Gov. Rick Snyder has reappointed Russell A. Kavalhuna from 51¸£ÀûÉç's College of Aviation to a four-year term on the Michigan Aeronautics Commission.

51¸£ÀûÉç received its first MAC Institutional Academic Achievement Award for posting an overall GPA of 3.253 for the past academic year based on 398 students in 15 MAC sports.

Dr. David Chaplin, professor emeritus of sociology, died July 27 at age 86. Services have taken place.

Dr. Jay Baruch, assistant professor of emergency medicine at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University, will speak at 6 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 14, at the 51¸£ÀûÉç Homer Stryker M.D. School of Medicine.

After already packing a lot into his 21 years, senior Dennis Schneider is using his recently awarded Gilman Scholarship to study international business in the Netherlands.
