 Physician Assistant Academies

  • The American Academy of Physician Assistants (AAPA) is recognized as the only national organization representing physician assistants in the United States. Because it shares many concerns with the Association of Physician Assistant Programs (e.g., certification, postgraduate education, etc.), the two organizations maintain a close working relationship. The Association of Physician Assistant Programs has had a representative in the AAPA House of Delegates since 1985. .

  • The association recognizes Student Academy of the American Academy of Physician Assistants (SAAAPA) as the organization that best represents physician assistant students. The student academy is represented at the Association of Physician Assistant Programs by appointing an SAAAPA member as liaison to its board of directors. Contact SAAAPA.
